Shimano Aero GT baitrunner, model 6010. Loaned it to a friend and came back broken. Bail arm doesn't automatically click over after casting. Can do it manually but very stiff. Is there a simple way to fix this?

Cheers

Yes its a common probem on the 5010,6010,8010 modes. Dont force the bail arm else you will break the part that has come lose. To save trying to explain I will find and post an exploded diagram to show you the part that s most likey causng the problem. If its come out of place simply relocate it,if broken you can get a replacement part from Shimano.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Just in case we don't hear back from JMA, I'd like to say 'thanks' to you both. :)

Hi Will. I don't know if you could see some of the above photos but Budgie (our main reel repair expert) says that part 2532 probably needs reseating or replacing if it is broken rather than just out of place.

if you dont want to do the repair yourself send it to the guys at Felindre service centre. www.shimanofelindre.co.uk

They only had my reel 2 days and included a service as part of the repair. I had made a reel (ho ho ho) mess of the internals of my super baitrunner by pushing the spool on too hard. A lot of parts were replaced (and all the damaged ones sent back so i could see) and all cost about £30. Well worth it imo.
