There's nothing on their live service page to indicate any problems:

http://status-cable.virginmedia.com/vmstatus/summary.do

Some comments on http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/ seem to suggest there's been some intermittent problems, but nothing lasting three days.

Sure nothing's been 'tweaked' at your end?

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

It sound like there a fault in the cable somewhere in your area. Try emailing them or ring them on the 150 (free number) and explain the problem.

I am with Virgin Media and been reasonable happy but I will experience some problems but can live with that when activity and receiving is quite low (in the status) on some nights where the weather is very wet!

I am on virgin but dont use their email sevice for this reason. I use google mail now.

Virgin offer a terrible internet service. Slow connections, email down time, poor and expensive customer service.

I made the mistake of upgrading from NTL 1 meg to virgin UPTO 8 meg. The fact of the matter is that the upto 8meg service is slower than the 1 meg service for about 80% of the time - often with speeds nearer dial up.

Im just waiting on the contract to end (sadly a while yet) then Im off. They are Crap with a capital C

It's amazing how different people get or see services so differently.

I have never had a problem with NTL/Virgin apart from the occasional maintenance downtime.

I did phone them [150 free] to query my bill and received excellent service that has probably saved me £20-£25 per month.

Any problems I've had with email are usually down to my wireless connection on my laptop which a quick reboot usually sorts out.

Try the channel 5 gadget show speed test here [click on broadband campaign] to see what speed you are really getting. I'm on 2mb and get around 1.9mb on the speed test.

Virgin are about to up the speed on most of their services for no extra cost but sadly not the 2mb service.

Well it depends on the area where you live. I was on boardband with Telewest Blueyonder but gave up after 2 weeks because of a weak signal coming from the cable. Went back to the old dial up system which was convenient when somebody wanted to ring my mum up while me on the internet. :P:D

Was persuded to go back to boardband and only had a couple of problems with them but mainly very happy with them so far.

Well I got my email problem sorted  I had overloaded my allocated web space I had mp3s, wma.s jpegs websites and a load of unanswered emails and basically all my sent mails but I must admit using the Virgin Media usergroups I got replies very quick from their technical support rather than using their online support . I must admit I never had any problems with Blueyonder their broadband speed was always stable .
