Motoring Today

What has happened to motoring today? Over the past few years thins have changed radically - for the worse!!

When I was taught to drive, I was told that drivers should always remain courteous to other drivers.

I was also told that you must always let other motorists know (well in advance) of your intentions.

Not any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once a driver gets behind the wheel he changes. If he is told he is doing anything wrong, instead of aknowledging it, he/she will raise one or two fingers. If he/she is going to turn left/right, you have to guess. Complain to them and get one or two fingers in reply!! Turn INDICATORS are there to turn on when you are turning so that you can claim off insurance when somebody hits you!!

tell him/her that you should really use them to let other motorists know.

And get one or maybe two fingers again!

Crowded conditions will tend to do that and major UK roads are crowded.

took the mrs to the hospital the other day for an 8am appointment boy why i used to use the bike commuting was revealed ,arsewhipes slowing traffic by not getting in the correct lane untill the last moment as usual ,fine for them but each time some sucker lets one in the the traffic stops behind ,get to the front of the que and theres bugger all else to blame for the problem

some aggressive buggers as well "demanding" (by trying to nudge their way in) to be let in ,my cars 20 years old a few more dents wont effect me so in my case F em.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

If we follow that through logically, then all we need do is get rid of the insurance companies and then no-one will need indicators.

I don't waste my time (or concentration) trying to tell other drivers they are doing it wrong, treat every one else on the road as a potential idiot who could do anything at anytime and you will be much calmer and safer.

Like the guy today who came around the roundabout not indicating and was happily admonishing me for having to brake when leaving my exit. :bigemo_harabe_net-165:

Noticed he was a blue sticker driver after I decided not to mouth some obscenities B)

The standard of driving on the whole is rubbish these days. Some people don't even know what lane discipline actually is let along practice it.......you'd think most people drive De Loreans the way they sniff up the white lines!

Had a fellah today......theres a set of temporary lights near me but tonight the traffic was backed up almost to a blind bend (not usual at all) so I had to break fairly sharply the moment i entered the bend. The fellah behind locked up and ended up on the wrong side of the road. Of course he was gesticulating like a prat at me as if somehow this Q of cars which had appeared in front of me was somehow my fault. Not got a clue some of em.

The closer you get to major centres of population, the less cooperative and polite and the more competitive and aggressive gets the driving. Doesn't matter whether it's London, Birmingham or Manchester. Rats in a sack.

I think its just the law of averages at play.

The more drivers we now have on the roads, increases the likelihood of you meeting a pillock.

Now be honest.

How many times have you done something stupid when driving and had someone (justifiably ?) toot you, or wave their fingers aggressively ?

We can all make mistakes, especially in a strange area.
