2016 Obituary thread

As hard as it might be to accept, that is the natural way Dave. It will come eventually, no matter how hard we try to control things. The world cannot sustain an uncontrolled population. Like rats we can only accommodate a certain amount of over crowding before we start to fight amongst ourselves. The more the population grows, the less there is to go round, resources become scarcer, and wars become more likely. Then there are the natural consequences of overcrowding, disease, higher child mortality, the old dying of quicker, all until a sustainable balance is met. Then the cycle will start again.

All this is assuming that we don't find a way to colonise other planets of course, but I think we will be beyond help by then.

John.

PS, what's happened to the 'quote' button?

Sorry mate but that is just not true. The top three countries by population density ar Macau, Monaco and Singapore.

Sierra Leone, the country with the highest child mortality in the world has a fairly low population density.

PS Quote button is where it always has been on my PC.

Once oil eventually runs out that and more will happen ,but by then we will probably be dead with some escaped virus produced to threaten an enemy of the time ,our stupid insistence of flying combined with porous border control will see to that

At least if its the zika virus with human improvements so its transmitted easier we can save money buying smaller hats

I can see your point, but that's on a small scale. If the population density of the whole world, (as that's what I was meaning), reached or exceeded that of Macau, then I believe the consequences would be as I predicted.

As for the quote button, I knew where it was, it's just that it didn't work when I tried to quote Daves post. I does seem to be working now though.

But gozzer said "Then there are the natural consequences of overcrowding, disease, higher child mortality, the old dying of quicker, all until a sustainable balance is met"

My point is that poverty and population density do not necessarily go "hand in hand".

I have a box from my child hood brought home from Sierra Leone by my dad when he was the navy ,perhaps the only good thing from the place,

I remember the guilt nicking thruppence from it ,it was the days when telephones were so venerated they had seats and money boxes to themselves

The second time i ever used a phone was learning to operate a switchboard at my first job at 15 ,i rerely use one today ,i certainly would never call someone on one ,text or email is better

Starting with Libertarians.

The left if never far from totalitarianism.

Death to those whose politics you disagree with is a less than worthy position to advocate.
