Is anybody interested in appearing in a documentary?

Hi all

 

My name is Rob Drake and I am a researcher at production company Big Earth. Recent documentaries we have made include Long Way Down and Long Way Round with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman which you may have seen.

 

We are in pre-production on our newest film at the moment which will start with Charley traveling from the UK to Esberg in Denmark by fishing trawler, hopefully getting in a bit of fishing at the same time.

 

What we are looking for is the owner or captain of such a vessel to let Charley come aboard with our tiny crew (in number not size!) and for him to have a go at driving it as well.

 

We are looking at an early April departure but from my initial research into the area it looks as if the season involving that route has already finished.

 

I thought maybe somebody on this forum could help - either owning a trawler themselves, or knowing a suitable person - or perhaps just giving me some advice.

Hi Rob, trawler men and anglers are not natural bedmates but I'm sure you'll get something, as someone always knows someone.

Not being rude but you do not drive a boat, you can sail it or pilot it or steer it but driving it is a big nautical no no

 

As Norm stated it is very doubtful if you will find a commercial skipper who would be pleased to allow an RSA to fish from his boat let alone DRIVE IT

 

Mind you everyone one has their price even a commercial fisherman .
