Only a fool pays top price for anything so prices will have to go higher than that to effect everyone ,if you pay top prices more fool you and my chinese buys are exactly the same price .

Got a new filter system direct from china for half what it is here why pay more?

Food is easy to buy cheap and you stockpile it ,the world could end and we would live for 6 months on what i have squirreled away ,still no response on why inflation is lower than it has been while IN the EU,it was 24% in the first year after entering the common market brexit inflation is so low its laughable to mention it

Luckily i dont have a generator its the most expensive way of generating energy i can think of

I dont pay the highest rate in the most expensive utilities so the savings i make will cover any rises that come.

I can also choose not to use it!

I didnt have hot running water as a kid ,nor a bath room nor central heating ,it didnt kill me then it wont now.

Prices rise because you let them ,it applies to everything if you refuse to buy things the price will drop or the company goes bust

There is a lot of talk on this subject on the major issues, the state of the pound, defense, or 'own' laws, immigration, border controls, the cost of fuel(s) and all that 'macro stuff. I have thought of it like this, 'will I be happier living outside of the EU'?(micro stuff) and I can't see how I would. I don't see how belonging to an independent nation makes one more British or English (or whatever), I am uneasy with nationalism anyway.

From what I read the whole process of independence, specifically the writing up of new laws will take longer then my expected lifetime. I hope, but it is by no means certain that the newly constituted country will protect the environment.

At my micro level I have already been affected by dramatic price rises of commodities which have a knock on effect of some of the materials I buy. These rises happened on the 26th June last year, as soon as the referendum result was announced. Not devastating, but significant.

Sadly I am a regular user of the NHS, I imagine that others among you are too, it seems to go with the turf when getting on a bit. So I am probably not alone in experiencing the difficulties that the NHS seems to have, specifically waiting times for both GP / nurse appointments and for specialists too. As part of their industrial scale lying the brexiteers strongly implied that the money saved from being out of the EU would be diverted into the health service, only to be told after the vote that they were 'only kidding' or words to that effect. The new 'free' Britain may be able to give us an equal or better health service, but I don't know, nor does anyone else and that about sums this whole thing up, for me anyway, uncertainty.

Andrew,

We now have Aldi's well established in the Midwest US. The Mrs. likes Aldi as many choices are unique to Aldi. Lidl's is opening their first store soon. Are they the same company?

They must have a rather sophisticated system to handle the cumbersome US Dept. of Agriculture food inspection services. The produce has been excellent thus far.

Is that right so why was it my morgage in 1985 on £26,000 was £250 month with tax relief without Miras it was roughly £350 per month I should know I paid it without Miras I paid it for the 1st year of my morgage because of a balls up with submitting my wifes national number by the building society to claim the Miras and it was bloody hard any more .....s. and yes that was without out beloved brexit which financially for the average man in the street could be a disaster for years to come we are paying for the brexit vote with the weak pound for practically everything and we haven't left yet .

You must feel really bad being the only person in the Country to have purchased a house at that time.
