Things are pretty bleak. I'm not sure they've been this unpromising since the 1970s when, at least in part, joining the common (single) market saved our economy.

It's worse than that and we continue to drive towards the cliff edge the Eu ain't perfect but what we heading towards is frightening farage should be tryed for deceiving the people he has personally trashed this country for decades to come .

Totally agree b , it's more than that, it's a useless not fit for purpose money grabbing black hole to the detriment of the tax payers the unemployed in particular and industry, commerce It requires a radical overhaul but those mandarins in control cannot and will not consider any improvement what so ever. I have numbers of Muslim friends and it's plain to observe the shackles of religious belief weaken with each generation as western culture pervades.

That may be the case in suburban East Sussex but it's certainly not always true in major conurbations or northern towns.

When kids are packed off to madrasas at 3 and forced to memorise the Qur'an by unregistered and unregulated foreign clerics, sent to schools that are 90% or more Muslim and are immune from prosecution or censure by public servants for whom "community cohesion" takes precedence over right and wrong, you have a perfect formula for creating violent religious extremists with zero regard for the law or anyone who isn't a Muslim - including other Muslims who aren't Muslim enough.
