Reply to an e mail to MP from a chum of mine

Last night, the House of Commons voted overwhelmingly against the Government's Withdrawal Agreement from the European Union. This could have been our last chance to vote for a deal which would see us leave the EU on the 29th March 2019, and this is why I took the decision to vote for it.

Now that MPs have voted against it, we now have two options - either leave with no deal or extend Article 50 which will give us more time to negotiate.

This evening, I will be voting to keep No Deal on the table. We must keep this option and I believe that it would be a mistake to remove this as our last bargaining chip with the EU. Leaving with No Deal does not have a majority in Parliament, therefore, it is highly likely that this vote will fail.

This brings me on to the final vote this week to extend Article 50. I will not support an extension. I am unsure what a further extension of Article 50 would achieve and I feel that this would give the EU the upper hand in the negotiations.

I am also concerned that if we extend Article 50, it may be for an indefinite period of time and we may never leave the EU.

In my view, I believe that we are in a very difficult position where hard-line Remainer MPs are now starting to take control of the process. This opens up a variety of different possibilities which could now occur, including another referendum, a General Election, or worst of all, No Brexit at all.

There is a possibility that we could end up with a Norway-style agreement (which would mean we are subject to EU laws, including free movement). This is not my vision of Brexit, and I am sure that this is not the view of many of my constituents.

The Labour Party and other opposition parties want a second referendum and do not support the referendum result. They want us to remain locked in the EU with no possibility of withdrawal.

This is unacceptable and would be a betrayal to the 17.3 million people who voted for Brexit.

Today we have a free vote, but many amendments have been put, suggesting revoking article 50, and extension. We must wait to see which amendments the Speaker allows to be debated and voted upon. I will provide a further update as things become clearer later today.

We must honour the result and leave.

Cameron could say what he wanted, if those people had voted no, he would not have got it. Every one of them owns Brexit just as much as Cameron does.

On the 5 th June 1975 over 17 million people voted to stay in EU so what right did Cameron have to hold another referendum when we had allready had one earlier on membership so if its ok to hold another referendum after we had allready had one why cant we have another on the final say after near in 3 years of what you can only say is total utter mayhem.

The only way to resolve this is to put it to the people again, in my opinion. Parliament can't decide. No Deal means economic collapse. Any deal the EU will sign up to means we become rule-takers and financial contributors with no say on the rules. If we want a better deal than we've got (while still getting no say) we have to compromise on the very things like freedom of movement that people voted leave to escape. We know what we're getting now. If we still want it, fine.

You are 100% correct Steve it is the only way to settle it once and for all but a lot wont agree .

By the talk coming out of the E.U. they now want rid of us they arent bothered about no deal we could very soon be in the real reality of Brexit the govement say they would slash tariffs on no deal buisness leader today issue a catastrophic warning that this would have a sledgehammer affect on the uk economy brexit reality will hit home like an atomic bomb welsh farmers today say they will go bust overnight its just a hornets nest never thought out utterly totally irresponsible from this government from start of declaring a Brexit referendum without working out the consequences.

Is it best of 3 ? Best of 6 ? Best of 100 until you get the correct vote ,you have already had 2 chances the referendum and the election how many more do you want?

As i have said if you really wanted to remain you would have voted liberal as remain was the top of their manifesto ! Did you?

As many as is needed to get the result they want isn't that the EU way as witnessed in Ireland amongst others
