Big Cod,

Perhaps a more balanced view of your comment (since singularly only your "source" attributes it to your Prime Minister)

"I am delighted to publish today a White Paper on Defra’s future fisheries policy. Our seas and oceans are an integral part of our history, economy and way of life. Delivering a green Brexit centres around three interconnected areas of policy: fishing, farming and our environment. Leaving the EU and the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) gives us the opportunity to introduce a sustainable, responsive and resilient new fisheries policy. As an independent coastal state for the first time in over 40 years, access to UK waters will be on our terms, under our control and for the benefit of UK fishermen."

Balance? Paul doesn't do balance Phone, I've tried to explain it many times, but I failed. "Boris Johnson lies", will be written on his tombstone, conveniently disregarding the quote from Juncker, "When it becomes serious, you have to lie". The fact that all politicians lie, is replaced by 'only the ones that disagree with Paul lie, the rest must have been mislead, mistaken, or unlucky'.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Well, it looks like the IMF were wrong and have rather heavily revised their previous predictions.

I wonder what ever became of the former managing director of the International Monetary Fund?

Surely nobody wanted her after she was found guilty of negligence in public office.

Probably all will go to higher and better paid jobs ,we dont punish failure in the higher paid jobs ,the basic wage employees tend to be treated far more harshly for a simple mistake the mistakes that effect thousands go unpunished.

Well well boris telling porkys  well  I never did you actually believe him ? truth hurts bas truth hurts all this taking back control it’s ****s  and you fell for it .Bungling boris has some explaining to do that’s what telling lies constantly does to it comes back kicks you right where it hurts .

Four different lots from London onboard  this week they are saying it’s very hard work  on the south coast could not believe the fishing here ,  email your  MP bas and get some pressure on to minimise the dredging and Beam trawling  and help save your charter fleet before it’s to late .

dear ohhh dear, more blindness  from you, you really have no clue within your tiny selfish existence where you offer your anglers codling, codling or codling with the odd cod thrown in,

ling stewing in a soup bucket and you think your anglers are doing good?

them anglers from london pass them the deepsea web site if they want to go angling on the south coast, ramesgate is no good nor herne bay. dover is the same. Tell me what port they were fishing out of, bet a pound to a penny you won't, as it's bullshine or cr@p anglers.

Now for a proper mixed fishery, do you know what one of those are? deepsea, real stuff, inshore, offshore or channel isles.

And your blinkers worn, the issue on the south coast isn't scallopers or beamers, never has been, where did you get that from? You might well use that bullshine where you are as an excuse for a bad day up north but not down south.

As said the issue is the c f p and the london agreement, did you look it up? shortly no longer applicable for the u k. And as said your 150% promise that came to diddly squat is not required or wanted. so why don't you stand down. Once the e u no longer badly manages the u k fishery it can only get better for all of the coastal communities. One day you will thank me for even improving your lot by writing to mp's and reminding them just how bad and disparaged against the u k fishery is by the e u megalomaniacs.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Quote, “Now on a more serious knote artickle 50 is be challenge in the high court this Friday .“

Fully appreciating that Clod has often been accused of not reading an article before eagerly posting it for the benefit of all, this time he has hit the bottom of the well.

Once again in desperate hope that the cavalry is on the horizon galloping baldly to rescue him from the depths of misery he grabs a few straws presented to him!

One doesn’t have to read far in the quoted article to see that it is dated 2017, a little bit of further reading sees it refer to The Prime  Minister, Teresa May.

Perhaps to knock this latest pitch of ‘evidence’ clear out of the ball park I would like to add that this tale of doom for Brexit was immediately quashed by the court, as any first year law student would have advised. Perhaps the legal expert Clod was reliant on should stick to Architecture, but equally I expect the lawyers representing this forlorn hope gratefully accepted the crowd funded monies.

Article 50 decision validly taken: new judgment

20 Jun 2018

R. (on the application of Webster) v Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union

On 12 June 2018, Lord Justice Gross and Mr Justice Green refused permission to apply for judicial review to challenge the Brexit negotiations on the basis that the United Kingdom had, so it was argued, failed to make a valid decision to leave the European Union pursuant to Article 50(1). The Judgment has today (20 June 2018) been publicly released, and is available here.

Summary

Permission was refused (both on the papers by Supperstone J, and after a renewed application at an oral hearing by Gross LJ and Green J) on three grounds:

(1) The claim is out of time. As is well known, CPR 54.51 requires a claim form to be filed promptly and in any event not later than three months after the grounds to make the claim first arose. The UK’s notification letter was sent on 29 March 2017. The claim form, however, was not filed until nearly 9 months after the notification. No good reason had been advanced for the extension of time; indeed, Gross LJ stated:

“There is no conceivable – let alone good – reason for extending time. This is a paradigm instance of a claim needing to be made promptly and within the applicable time limit.”

(2) There had been undue delay in bringing the claim such that it would be to the detriment of good administration to hear it (see section 31(6)(a) Senior Courts Act 1981). Gross LJ explained:

“If the claimant was to pursue this claim…then it cried out for a prompt pursuit… The notion that good administration would be assisted by the grant of permission here or that the negotiations would not be derailed is with great respect wholly unreal, not least given the timetable under which the negotiations are taking place.”

(3) The claim is, in the words of the Court, “unarguable”, “doomed to fail on the merits” and “Totally Without Merit”. The Article 50(1) decision, the Court held, was authorised by Parliament in the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal Act) 2017 and was contained within the Prime Minister’s letter of notification.
