Ultimate bobbin

Had a good look but nothing new there.Just very expensive and most likely very well made gear. But like I said no new ideas/materiels and nothing that does the job I and several others on here are looking for.

Chris Brown was doing this sort of stuff many years ago along with several others.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Never many new ideas in fishing Budgie, but some good solutions there to problems that have been addressed thoughout this brilliant thread, namely line clips and windproof bobbins. I like to give guys like this my money, made in Britain and all that. I just wish we had more of this sort of thinking, which is what I was getting at really.

Interesting to see that exactly a year ago I was thinking and planning exactly the same things!

I'm actually going to make my long-arm swingers this year ready for the new season's breaming. There's just one problem remaining...

I need to get hold of some of the hard plastic rod rest clips you get with the Fox drop-arm pike indicator: http://www.foxint.com/catalogues-products....&section=30

Any ideas or where I can get something very similar (I don't want cheap metal terry clips)

No but Ive just found some really nice PTFE to make my heads out of!

Im also playing with a non clip release system based on this idea-

I take it your not going with the "Swinger hinge" method then?

:D

Yes, I am sticking with the original plan - geting some double hinged swingers from ebay (with 'bobbin' heads that have adjustable line clips and that can have isotopes added and screw-in weights added), replacing the short arms with longer ones, and replacing the bankstick attachments with clips, so I can clip them halfway up the rear bankstick.

The bobbins I used last season were really good overall, but crap in big winds.

The reason I want those Fox clips is that's what I've been using with my bobbins, and they're very stiff and stable. Being able to clip the swingers halfway up the bankstick will be important so I can keep the arms as short as possible, and to make sure they are actually windproof the clips need to be very solid.

The ones I have are spares that came with the pike indicators, but I can't find them available as spares...

(I'm looking forward to the new season's tench and breaam fishing/blanking already :D )

I just had a thought, if I can't find any spare Fox ones (or similar) I can swap the ones over from my bobbins and replace them with cheap metal ones. It matters a lot less with the bobbins.

All I can find are the thin flimsy looking metal ones on the web (like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-X-STORAGE-CLIP-SP...=item3c9f4a8ab0 )
