What are you currently reading?

It just struck me as I'm waiting for Vagabonds new release that I have 4 or more separate books that I am 'in the middle of'. I am aspiring to read them all it's just that I always see another that I would like to read (see Vagabonds thread ). So far these are the books that continue to hold my attention:

 

The Bourne Betrayal (Robert Ludlum)

Apt Pupil (Stephen King) Wanted to read Shawshank Redemption.. starting The Body

Spiderwick Chronicles Book 2

Dragonfly in Amber (Diana Gabaldon) Number 3 of 6? Don't ask...

Darkest Evening of the Year (Dean Koontz)

 

and now I'm eyeing Hans Christian Anderson The Complete Fairy Tails and Stories. If you didn't already know I was blessed with Twins almost two years ago.

 

These don't include books for work, research for hobbies or start with something like " The sun has set not long ago, now everyones gone below. To take a bath in one big tub....." So little time!!!

 

 

I can't possibly be the only one that reads X10. Only curious.

Started to read The Road To Wigan Pier by Orwell last night a good insight to the world of working and living conditions in the mining communities

Just finished "The Fist of God" by Freddie Forsythe (Brilliant) and now I am reading "The Cabinet of Curiosities" by Lincoln Preston. Different, but good reading.

Just finished two that are worth mention. Travelling through India and swapping means I don't geta lot of choice, so I've also read quite a lot of trash rescently.

 

"The catcher in the rye" it total crap. Just an American college dropout after the war rambling on without any point or purpose. Not worth any of the frequent mentions it gets and is far from the dark and dangerous book that I was expecting. I'm convinced that the only purpose of the conspiracy theories that suround this book are to generate sales.

 

"Roots" is astonishing ! Anyone over 40 will have seen the mini serise but that's a light taster buy comparison with the book. Simply the best book I've read in ages and one that had me on the verge of tears a couple of times. Run (don't walk) to your nearest bookshop or library.

I didn't expect any less than a diverse selection and equally as many replies.

 

Clifftop, You reminded me that I forgot to mention I have this on the back burner- bought it spur of the moment as I was buying paracord for rigging my kayak. It was one of those 'what other people bought' with paracord... Now if I can just get past some of the things Bear Grils eats :yuck:

 

Kleinboet, I have a few of audio books from Itunes. Cheap and you don' t require an Ipod to listen to them. Itunes is a free download and free podcasts too I think.

 

Ken, Can't believe you made it all the way through! It's required reading in the US for students.
