Some very nice fish there Chris, I'm particularly envious of the dace and crucian. A pound+ dace would be the fish of a lifetime for me. All I can say about the trout is that (assuming you were trotting with fairly light gear) I'm glad it was you who hooked it and not me! Which was browner - the fish or your trousers?:P

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Thanks Anderoo - I'm lucky enough to have had a few really big dace in my time...yes the Brownie was extremely 'hairy' - caught in a weirpool with very fast water right under my feet - a questioning of playing it out in the back eddy and then trying to scoop it up as it shot past me - which I managed 3rd time lucky! Caiught on a size 16 to 3½lb bottom...

The pb I'm most proud of is a 2lb 1.5oz roach caught from the Relief Channel in Norfolk when I was a wee anderoo. I don't expect I'll ever better that and to be honest I don't really want to. I like the fact it's from 'home'.

This season I would dearly love to better my tench and bream PBs, and I hope to catch a good rudd too.

I'm hoping not to land a pb eel...!

If they happen to come along, PB barbel and carp would be nice. Those are ones I've never set out to catch.

EDIT: here's a list.

Grayling - 2lb 11oz (R. Itchen, 2008)

Chub - 5lb 1oz (Oxfordshire River, 2008)

Rudd - 1lb 4oz (Oxfordshire gravel pit, 2007 - I think I've have bigger unweighed, but not sure)

Dace - 10oz (Oxfordshire river, 2007)

Eel - 3lb 1oz (Wingham, 2007)

Zander - 8lb 9oz (Middle Level, 2007)

Perch - 3lb 10oz (Small stream, 2006)

Tench - 8lb 4oz (Frensham Great Pond, 2004)

Bream - 7lb (Surrey estate lake, 2004)

Barbel - 5lb 8oz (R. Wey, 2004)

Catfish - 3lb 8oz(!) (Badshot Lea, 2004)

Pike - 18lb (Norfolk gravel pit, 1995)

Carp - 22lb (Norfolk gravel pit, 1993)

Roach - 2lb 1.5oz (Relief Channel, 1990)

Crucian carp - about 1lb (Norfolk gravel pit, 1993)

god you've caught everything

i,m surprised there cats that small in the lea the big ones would scoff it down in a trice ,theres some fine crucians over 3lb in stockbridge if you can avoid the brown goldfish if you have a farnham permit and some big bream in the lea on boily

I know, I think I did well to catch one that small! I tried several times to catch a proper one but never succeeded, despite people all around me doing well. Most of the ones I saw caught were helped along by using a baitboat, but even so I think I was unlucky

I fished Stockbridge a couple of times, a really lovely lake. Had a great time catching crucians, brown goldfish, rudd and tench on a pole, and watching the koi cruising about :)

Started fishin at 5 with my grandad and im 17 now, below is me PB's in those 12 glorious years of sittin beside the bank :)

Last 2 years ive been goin after my grandads PB's but have found stubling blocks at his better catches.

Me Grandad's 4 unbreakables-

Common Carp - 15Lb (Bucks Head Long Lane, Telford) I dare say i wont catch a fish in the way he did with this fish, landing a fish that size on 6 elastic, 3Lb main line and 1Lb Hook Length is beyond belief, he had to walk the bank for 1hour 45mins till he landed it.

Pike - 13LB ( The Valley Pool, Telford)

Barbel - 12Lb 8oz (Swinney Cliff, Ironbridge)

Chub - 5lb (Swinney Cliff, Ironbridge)

And here are my PB's. As you can see i only do well at 3 places :P

Mirror Carp - 13Lb (Leegomary Top Pool, Telford)

Common Carp- 12Lb (Leegomary Top Pool, Telford)

Ghost Carp - 5Lb (Leegomary Top Pool, Telford)

Roach - 1Lb 4oz (Melverley Farm Bottom Pool, Whitchurch)

Rudd - 2Lb 1oz (Melverley Farm Bottom Pool, Whitchurch)

Perch - 3Lb (Middle Pool, Telford)

Tench - 4Lb 8oz (Middle Pool, Telford)

Golden Tench - 1Lb 8oz (Melverley Farm Bottom Pool, Whitchurch)

Bream - 5Lb (Middle Pool, Telford)

Pike - 3Lb (Middle Pool, Telford) I caught 4 over 2Lb that day but havent had another over 1LB since

Eel - 1Lb (Middle Pool, Telford)

Crucian carp - 2Lb 3oz (Leegomary Top Pool, Telford)

Biggest Bag Up - 87Lb 8oz (Kingswell Pool)
