reading a quiver tip

The Flying Tench

Recommended Posts

I did suggest having nothing on the hook and nothing in the feeder at the same time ,this would eliminate the fish aspect but bring to the fore any other forces effecting the tip ( feeder rolling in current ,slight bow in line flapping and current twitching the line if taught or semi floating leaves hitting the line etc)

Once you get a feel for those effects anything else above and beyond should be the fish or perhaps crayfish who just love to frick about with feeders!

At least as the water cools fish frenzy (fish hitting the feeder or line bites) should lessen but even a shoal of gudgeon can cause mayhem once the get interested and fight for the food exiting the feeder
