Fungi

It is the start of 'The Wet' in northern Australia and we, in the Mackay area, haven't missed out. In the first 10 days of January, we have received 11 inches of warm rain...Because of that, we are also getting lots of fungi shooting up; mainly the common toadstool type but also these, purple mushrooms, (cortinarius)

Bobj,

 

They are absolutely beautiful. But then so are poisonous snakes.

 

Reminds me of my long gone past. I collected, beginning as a lark, different species of moss I came across. It's amazing how many there really are. Same with mushrooms I guess.
