Pellet Waggler or Specialist Float Rod ?

I am looking for a short float rod between 11ft and 12ft for dealing with Mullet think Barbel in tight spaces . My main float rod is Tri cast but they are not cheap will be used on running waters if this makes any diference any recomadations?

Daiwa do various pellet waggler rods in different price ranges, all capable of handling mullet with lines in the 4 to 8lb range, and mostly very light to hold.

As per boat rod thread, I use an 11ft Shakespeare Mach 3 pellet waggler rod.

It's handled commercial carp up to 12lb with 5lb mainline with ease.

For mullet I would recommend a pellet waggler rod over a specialist as the action will be far more forgiving and line pick up on the strike a bit faster.
