Sure he can force americans not to buy from china but can the companies in america produce it for the same price? No chance when americans have unions, imposible when employees want decent standards of living and ,the reason cheap goods come out of china is they have no concern for their workers and their workers (at the moment) put up with it

Like the UK america just sits on its hands watching their enemies  not only out produce them but have better tech than them to do (look at the joke both our car industries were before foreigners showed us the way and even then we did a poor job trying to catch up)

We have a few narrow fields better than foreigners but small time so its not going to improve our total output ,china is at the moment taking the place of malasia, japan ,east germany,russia and all the rest of the cheap labour we have used for a 100 years as we cannot compete and china is on the slippery slope so look out for nigeria on your cheap tat theres a long way to go before america or the uk can be the cheap supplier of the worlds goods they used to be

The more the union or worker demand more and better the more they push themselves out of work ,thats why cod wants his cheap labour thats exactly why producers want it ,not because its needed but we no longer can live on what they do, we have put ourselves out of the jobmarket by just wanting to live an ok life unlike our ancestors who were our form of cheap labour
