There is still no evidence that Trump has done anything wrong.

 

There was no wrongdoing indicated in the Ukraine transcript and the so called “Whistleblower’s” statement is clearly a concocted compilation of third party reports. But even if the Democrats decide to press ahead and even if every representative of the party can be persuaded to back the coup attempt it is very unlikely that impeachment will succeed.

 

There are technically, enough Democrats in the House of Representatives to vote for his impeachment. Only a bare majority (of 218) is needed to initiate impeachment proceedings and there are 225 Democrats in the 435-seat House.

However; there are not enough Democrats in the Senate to find Trump guilty there.

Two-thirds (67) of the 100 senators (what is known as a "super majority") would have to vote guilty to remove President Trump from office — and only 46 senators are Democrats.

Even if some Republicans joined the coup attempt (although why would they?), Trump is still going to have the maths on his side.

 

Impeachment is a fantasy.

At best, it is a smokescreen to allow the Democrats and the left wing media a way to keep pushing the “orange man bad” message while avoiding discussion of the idiotic and deeply unpopular policies that every Democratic candidate has been pushing through the primaries.

Cracks are appearing in the republican ranks more and more by the day you cant keep telling porks day after day something has to give his decision to pull the US troops out of Syria was a massive home goal he has reneged on that decision and the G7 summit at his residence a big step to far thats coming out out of the Republican ranks he had to renege again his look and look at all those who worked for him now in jail he is still president protected but not for ever he is corrupt as you get. Yes, I've been watching him with interest. A well regarded pro gun, anti-abortion incumbent democrat who sits so far to the right of his party that he has one arse cheek hanging in thin air - and still he lost four percent of the vote compared ro his 2015 victory (and very nearly his seat) to a completely unknown Republican.

How do you reckon a 4% swing to Trump would work out if it were repeated across the country in 2020?
