Funny old day

Went to my local for a session today. Got a hard fighting mirror after about 1 hour. Spent some time watching aerial combat as an Egyptian goose was protecting its 8 hatchlings from the Canada geese. Wife arrived for a chat and took an order for coffee. This arrived about 90 minutes later, but no more fish. She went back home and 20 minutes later I hooked and landed, after a good fight, a 10lb common. It went dead for an hour or so, so I decided on a change of bait. 15 minutes later I got a bite and the fish came in like a sack of potatoes, no fight at all. Another common, but looked a bit big. As I landed it my super carbon net handle went bang. I managed to grab the net and landed the fish, A dark colored common went 12lb on the trusty Avons. My biggest so far from the lake !!

The two best times to go fishing are when it's raining and when it's not

wotnob,

Great report!! I can just see the $$ racking up in your head. I don't believe I ever went fishing I didn't come home needing some sort of expensive do-dad. Sounds like a day well spent. All things considered 3 nice fish in a session isn't all that bad.
