defragmenting

Recommended Posts

I have a friend with an asus lap top.

I tried to defrag it, it says 24% fragmented.

I clicked Defragment

It went through 5 passes saying Fragmented--relocated--consolidated

At the end of the fifth pass it still said 24% fragmented.

What am I doing wrong,

Cheers Fred

I'm assuming the operating system is some flavour of Windows. It would help to know which version.

Are you using a built-in utility for the defrag or a 3rd party product?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
