All,

I still have the plastic cover on my cell phone. I didn't know it was there until someone told me. About a year now. The edges are getting tattered.

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Taking the placcy off the handle used to be the first thing I did when I got a new rod but now I never rush to take the cork covering off.

Obviously the covering is meant to be removed and is just there to protect and keep the handle clean until it's bought but leaving it on for however long you wish to does it no harm whatsoever....it just keeps the cork clean. The tales of water getting under the placcy and discoloring the cork is pretty much nonsense, or if there is a bit of a water mark it just wipes off when you do remove the placcy cover anyhow.

I'd say leave the covering on until your sure your gonn'a keep the rod as if you decide to sell it on it will be more desirable to buyers with it still in place.

I've had a rod handle go mouldy green after being put away wet with the plastic still on. removing the plastic is the first thing I do now
