A female Doctor...

After much hinting and teasing, Doctor Who's 13th Time Lord is to be a woman.

Jodie Whittaker is apparently set to take over the role.

I genuinely believe that those in the BBC bubble have no idea what sort of anti-SJW backlash this is going to generate.

The new Star Trek series is already dead in the water before a single episode has been aired and now it seems that Doctor Who (and all the millions it generates for BBC worldwide) is going to go the same way..

They've been brownwashing history for years. The idea that black and Indian people were wandering around European cities in the 18th and 19'th centuries without attracting so much as a second glance is simply laughable.

You need to study your history a bit more

If you had been in the merchant navy you would know what a "lascar" was.

Lascars (Indians, brown skinned people) were settling in London from the 18h century onwards, Courtesy of the EIC (East India Company).

If you count the Romani who had their roots in Northern India then they were here even earlier, like the Kale in Wales.

I thought you like I had a penchant for Indian food. I had always thought that Hindoostane Coffee House was the first Indian eatery in the UK. It opened in 1810.

When I was at sea I served with a few men from the extreme north of India who had very light skinned and could easily have passed as Italian.

Interesting guy Dean Mohamed I also seem to remember he introduced our lot to the notion of actually washing oneself from time to time ;-)

Slavery was legal in Britain until 1772 What colour do you think those slaves were? Mauve?

Up to 1814 the currency in England was the guinea? Where do you think Guinea is?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I didn't suggest there were none here. My point was that they were not here in numbers and would certainly have attracted (at the very least) curiosity.
