driverless lorries

They could link them all together so they only needed one engine.

They could run them on a separate carriegeway, away from other traffic.

They could have a guidance system in their carriageway, like rails for instance...............

I think you can see where I am going with this.... Your turn Gozzer

He forgot to mention ,try to overtake another lorry doing the exact same speed for 15 miles forcing every other car to overtake in the third lane past 3 miles of lorries waiting to to do the same

Trouble is poor trailer pullers cannot go in that lane so they become unwilling lorry followers alongside infront and behind you we already have lorry convoys thanks

It seems they will have drivers sitting behind the wheel so to counter the loss of yorkie bars the sales of tissues will rise from thousands of drivers masturbation behind the wheel watching their ipads this will also provide jobs with countless romanian car washers ungluing the said tissues from the following cars windscreen after being chucked out the cab window to avoid giving the game away if the mrs searches your bag good for jobs good for imigrants on many levels bad news for trees

All,

I just read the BBC account of the proposal. Only one driver, in the first truck. It sound like a train on rubber tires to me. Chesters1, (or anyone) read the BBC thing and get back to me. It is going to happen, question is, will it work????

Phone

Chesters1, for you substitute the words lorry, tyers where necessary. I'll help you learn later.

No phone ,a driver in each lorry but not driving so its not driverless is not turning a wheel person unless in cases of emergency ,driverless is getting watered down as we speak

In essence (fnar) one driver does the work the other two play bingo or jerk off

Its a roadtrain but substituting squashed pensioners instead of roos

Feel free to teach me american and i will avoid grammar ,punctuation and spelling with the same gusto (look out those living in stick houses as we speak) as i do english with a small e

Save the computer crap buy in roadtrains ,put some knarly ausie in it screaming get out the fricking way you pommie bastard ,sorted

Ps we can buy tires or tyres here we invented air you remember

Easy enough to create distribution hubs with their own driverless lorry only exits to avoid the needs for he trucks to navigate roads other than motorways but I agree that a better solution was created in the 19th century.

The Australians aready do - they call them road trains. They run on outback roads, Instead of rails, they run on channels in the bulldust

Bloody difficult to get out of those channels if you are in a campervan and you see a road train coming, They take no prisoners........
