Spinning for estuarine sea trout?

I am thinking a Dexter wedge or Toby. I will be doing plenty of bait fishing for the other species, but looking at reports it doesn't look as if they are caught on bait by accident. Sometimes seen passing through.

Might want a longer chuck, though, the river is a couple of hundred metres wide there at high water.

Yes, that's a chunky looking lure, a lot heavier than I tend to use for rivers that size! It's still only 1/2 oz, though, not sure how far across a 200m wide river I could chuck that?

There are plenty of tiny soft plastic sandeel lures that you could dropshot or fish with a spirolino.

Yes, I'm thinking of using the soft plastics for flounder.

I was going to try little plastics on football jig heads last time I visited the coast but never got around to it. They can be crawled along the bottom with the lure and hook sticking up.
