Oh, the weather outside is frightful

Recommended Posts

I just walked down the drive to check on the state of the road, (solid packed ice), but the state of driveway was something I've not seen before.

From the ground up:- 50mm of snow - covered with a layer of ice about 8mm thick - covered again by another 25mm of snow.

It's weird walking on it, it really crunches very loudly as the ice breaks and leaves a massive footprint.

I will be snow clearing to make sure the elderly can pray to their god but i am sure if he existed he would do it for them not some fat non believing pensioner lol

Two oclock start should do it but its rumoured more is on the way at 3pm so they better mutter fast

I find it strange bbc reporters can get to the trouble spots !if it were bad they couldnt! Perhaps they are wasting money taking them by helicopter? Or its not really that bad

We've had freezing rain here this morning and the garden path is like a skating rink! So we're staying safe indoors.

More snow is forecast this afternoon followed by a thaw starting overnight.

If god had intended the elderly to walk on ice, he's have given them less fragile hips.

I lost some snow this morning. It was there when I came in last night, about 6 inches deep, but I could see patches of grass in front of the house this morning. There hadn't been a thaw, as far as I could tell, and I doubt it had been pinched.

Later I went round the side of the house to put something in the bin, and there it was, piled a couple of feet high against the bins. The wind must have picked up during the night, and moved the top 4 inch or so.

I'm hoping that it keeps doing this, and it all ends up in the garden of the miserable git who lives at the back of me.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

And possibly bigger feet, with a good deep tread.

Not bigger skis are big ,perhaps downward curved toenails ? Mind you going by the 95 year old two doors away he could slash tyres of passing buses if he went shoeless (shudder)

You must be a wonderful neighbour because without something to get miserable about he would suffer and have to depend on run of the mill misery topics ,your snow could liven up his lonely life ,theres only so many kids cats and footballs hitting his wall to moan about Edited by chesters1
