Oh, the weather outside is frightful

We've had a lot of snow showers over night, and it's about 3inches deep, (we have good old imperial snow up here, not that foreign metric stuff). While it's not much, it has fallen on the frozen stuff that fell earlier, and the gritting has had little effect. Took my wife to work this morning, and on the way back there's a hill, not very steep, but it's over a mile long. It took me a good half hour to get up it. There were cars sliding all over the place, and people pulling up and abandoning their cars which made it even worse. One of the funniest things was the number of big rear wheel drive BMWs, holding everyone up because they had little control, it made a great change from them trying to overtake at every slight opportunity. My front wheel drive Astra nearly went a couple of times, but I just managed to catch it in time.

The number of lazy buggers who can't be bothered to clean the snow of their vehicles before setting off, really annoys me. As well as being illegal, it's a real hazard when a couple of inches of snow flies off the roof, and adds to the blizzard that's already falling. They don't even clear the windows properly, just a few peep holes, and of course the drivers door so no snow falls on their seat. In the last lot of heavy snow a couple of years ago, I was following a 4x4 that had a good 2 inch of snow on it's roof. Approaching the traffic lights, the lady driver braked, and the whole lot slid forward and completely blocked her windscreen. The traffic was held up while she tried to clear it off with her hands, the lights changed 3 times before she could move on! I was tempted to help her but thought sod it, it might teach her a lesson.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Really ? ****. Im sat in tesco underground car park just now and looks apocaliptic outside. Strong winds picking up snow along with snow coming down. I dont mind but its the idiots with snow covering 90% of their cars driving around im more worried about.

There is unlikely to be a moron shortage any time soon..

On the positive side, you'll be pleased to learn that it's not just the frozen north that's frozen.

driving back from London I noticed that the snow had stopped coming down.

Then I realised I was going through the blackwall tunnel. :punk::punk::punk:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

We had another 2 inches overnight but some high parts of Kent had already had up to a foot by yesterday.

The biggest problem here though is drifting. Unusually the lying snow is very dry and is being driven by the wind across open fields. I went over to Wingham this morning and visibility for almost half a mile was just a few feet!

Tomorrow the wind is forecast to be even stronger, whilst on Friday afternoon there's more general snow expected.

Terry and I are going to have to go to Wingham on Friday morning to deal with any fallen trees. Terry will then stay over to check animal tracks in the snow.

We both went over today to look for tracks and it was fascinating reading all the signs. We're really both exhausted now!
