Watching the news as I type. Florence (hurricane but actually arrived as a "tropical low") has dropped between 30 and 36 inches of rain and estimates are losses in the neighborhood of $60 billion.

We're certainly not in the same position as the folks in the firing line of Florence but a gage up in the Welsh borders shows that we have an extra 4m of water on it's way down to here for the weekend.

I hope nobody here ha a late season fishing holiday planned for the Severn.

There is actually a plan to sell it and flood North Africa. Not sure exactly how much you're willing to pay to stop immigration.
