bluetooth woes

My wife bought me some KS Arena Bluetooth headphones so I could listen to music, horse racing etc on the laptop.

We couldn't get them to work at first until I called in to PC World & asked the question why??

Guy in the shop explained that Bluetooth isn't normally installed on most PC's & I needed to buy a Bluetooth Dongle £12.99 from them.

Just follow the installation instructions on the disc it comes with - Sorted!!

You also have to use low latency ones (plus a low latency bluetooth transmitter dongle) if you watch tv on a laptop or the lips dont sync with the words.

The differences are very noticable on a metal detector ,with ordinary bluetooth headphones the beep comes ,6 inches after the object as the coil goes over it ,if you use low latency its a couple of inches and old fashioned RF its a fraction of an inch.

Not sure why Bluetooth is so popular its slow and usually only one thing can use it at a time ,a step backwards imho

Outside of audio its fine and secure the lag doesnt matter its strange your laptop doesnt have bluetooth my ancient hpmw8000? Has it and its win xp and as i say very old ,its only used for a just as old film scanner and my mrs ipod shuffle that the new itunes version doesnt support

It maybe worth looking at its makers website to see if it has it but is lacking drivers for it

Bluetooth is popular because the "Lip Sync" thing isn't so much of an issue when used for what it was aimed at - Folk talking on mobile phones!!

A bit like the guy on the bus with clear mental issues talking to himself. (who I always seemed to get sat next to)

Now, thanks to Bluetooth, there's half a dozen+ at it.

It's now a technological disease!!

It sure is i have lost count of saying EH thinking someone was talking to me but they were talking to someone on the phone .

We have also whitness a black lady holding a phone to her ear for half an hour at a bus stop ,half an hour on the bus until we got off never saying one word!

Either she couldnt get a word in or the addiction was in its last stages! Or perhaps a podcast by the baby jesus on kicc.tv? Not much arm waving and fainting though so probably just technodisease
