Both are cooked as such so only need heating ,microwaving imparts no third party taste so the end product tastes like it should .

I shall microwave the frack out of my black pudding saturday on the recomendations of mr campbells a scottish purveyor of such delicacies

https://www.campbellsmeat.com/product/campbells-haggis.html

The days of boiling in a muslin bag are long gone ,christmas pud now within the reach of microwavees in 4 mins

PS nice people to buy from and vouchers often found to negate the postage ,we spent £30 last year and got free postage and 2 6 ounce steaks chucked in ,the scots pies we buy every couple of months not perfect i like the really cheap peppery ones but delivered makes the sacrifice worth it

Still trying to find an online seller of saveloy's i can get the small ones but exactly the same price as sainsbury so not worth the effort

Some people eat smokies cold, straight from the shop. Not for me.

I have a story about Xmas pud in the microwave. Many, many moons ago I lived in a shared house with a young lady who decided to subject her Xmas pud to the rigours of the microwave. After nuking it for the four minutes like it said on the box she decided it was not quite done so the silly moo gave it another three minutes. Ninety seconds into round two the Xmas pud took fire in a most spectacular fashion. The kitchen stunk for days. Alas, the microwave was a write-off.

I buy the cheap ones in the jan sales ,when i fancy a bit i cut one in half and pop it back in the plastic pot and nuke it then annoint it with half a small can of carnation milk.

I am happy and really really cheap to run ,the otger half gets eaten the next day

Fortunately, I was over in Froggie Land at the time. She had kept the corpse for me to inspect upon my return. The core was like pond filter carbon.

Kedgeree from smokies, err no. Kedgeree is what you make from cheap dyed yellow fish, golden cutlets or something like that. ;-)

No, I shall bake mine with a liberal knob of butter, en papillote in a moderate oven for 30 minutes and serve with a couple of poached eggs and a few slices of wholemeal bread and lashings more butter.

Well, my long tern Indian ex used to do Kedgeree regularly but it was the original version with no fish or eggs.

I like to turn smokies or good kippers into soup with cream and potato, and serve with hot buttered bread.

Species caught in 2020: Barbel. European Eel. Bleak. Perch. Pike.

Cullen Skink,

Of sorts. I'd probably seen a recipe at some point prior to wondering what to do with fish from the freezer.

That's a bit sophisticated, I thought you just microwaved the s41t out of things....."

BTW: The fish would have already been smoked when it came out of the freezer.

It may go in the micro ,i have a very sensitive gut and hate sitting on the bog for hours if its not completely nuked!

Any meat or fish gets a minute or two in the micro my mrs tends to guess times if she cooks ,i will either cook or set the timer if she insists but it still gets nuked
