The 'One Show' last night showed a clean up of parts of the Thames at low tide. The number of 'wet wipes' that they collected was almost unbelievable. I've used them on my grandkids, as well as cleaning my hands after messing with the car, and, (I may be stupid), I didn't even think about the amount of plastic in them. 100 years to break down, and then the microplastics as residue. They are already finding large amounts on, and in the mud of the river bed, so it's likely that it's the same in any river that passes through a major town.

You have to think how those wipes turn up in the thames ,everyone of them personally dropped by the users or more likely dumped by the sewage companies failing to remove them! A few billion quid fines should improve things by them!

Get the sewage staff picking them up (especially the fat bosses) some pointy sticks in the ribs should provide incentive

Our strange political system will punish people here for dropping a bag but ignore the real reason the seas are poluted bloody foreigners!

Foreigners are to blame for everything ,if they didnt exist we would take far longer to polute the world ourselves ,far more room for housing and far more resourses to exploit!
