What a Guy!

All,

BoldBear, Not sure if you are in the running but it is common knowledge on this side of the penny "the guy with the most toys wins".

Martin, The problem with using Robin Red is that - as I frequently do - it won't catch squirrls when you fish the tree branches.

Martin,

Today's the day everyone in America is Irish.

Have on on me - I'm drinking a Tequila Sunrise, This simple classic has only three ingredients—tequila, grenadine and orange

Keith, that was the one I had ! :).

These seem to be much better than some other 11 - 12' 6 brands which have a "Cheat" 18 inch, plain (no rings) dolly, thus maybe a potential dead spot in the Rod??

They are excellent rods, but a friend of mine was mithering me for mine so I let him have it and got myself the older im8 superfeeder. I'd been after the superfeeder for yonks and managed to get hold of a unused one! Another friend mithered me for the superfeeder to make him a pair up, as he already had one. Because he was a good friend I let him have it....:).

I have still got a as new 11ft drennan medium feeder (the old one that was out at the same time as the im8 rods) and a 11ft 2inch shimano technium specialist feeder rod. I also got a 11ft marksman supero quiver tip rod and a 12ft supero super feeder....never used either yet as I only ever seem to float fish!

You did well there Martin. I havent used that Drennan rod but I do own several other Drennan rods and they are all superb rods.

You landed on your feet there Martin. thumbs.gif

I've taken the rod a step further by inserting the solid tip off an old tele' (and whipped an extra intermediate eye on it) so it pushes nicely into the quiver tip bore.

I can now also use it as another strong 13' odd float rod. (the tip easily comes out when I want to use it again as a feeder)

Feeder rods don't have a proper tip eye, allowing line to wrap around end (until a quiver is fitted)

It'll hopefully get a good test at Viking Lakes (Goole) tom'!!

For anyone Interested, the push in rod tip insert I made (about 12" long) worked very well & handled carp up to 5 or 6 Lb with ease.

I was a bit concerned it could break becoming part of the rod, but no - very pleased with the result thumbs.gif
