Thanks mate, I just wanted to see whether or not a 12 foot+ feeder rod could double as a float rod.

 

And I got them all in with my Leeds Centrepin.

 

Never a Match winning combo' but still - a nice way to fish!!

Funny enough a friend of mine used to use a quiver tip for float fishing, he liked it !

 

I have often wondered if a quiver tip rod could be used as a substitute spliced tip float rod. Especially as the leger rod often has a stiff mid section and so it must have a fast action. Maybe playing round with various tips on the day to get the right feel for the tackle being used. I think the guides being so close to the blank, especially on the tip section may cause line wrap problems though.

Although, after saying that, the most expensive float rod daiwa are doing just now "the daiwa air" have guides with virtually no legs, similar to a leger rod?
