Is that your own opinion?

John.

Actually no cocoa is a really popular addition to chilli. Mind I'm biased I grow my own chillies so use them quite a lot, infact it reminds me I must make some more chilli jam as I've run out.

Depends on how much you are making I suppose. About 20g to half a kilo of beef, I usually do a big batch and freeze some.

My batches are a lot bigger than that (perhaps 1.5kg of beef and 2kg of beans) and they get half a teaspoon.

I'm down to my last jar too but fortunately Birmingham markets are very good and I will just go get the chilies, apples and lemons when I need a new batch.

I'm based just outside Birmingham so can use the markets but I prefer to grow my own chillies that way I can pick the varieties I want (I normally grow about 8 different varieties but have enough at the moment so am having a fallow year this year). Edited by snakey1

Well maybe I just like cocoa more than you. I like green chilis dipped in dark chocolate.

I used to grow my own but I don't have a garden these days.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Certainly sounds like it.

Chilies dipped in chocolate just sounds weird but who am I to talk - a favourite snack in India is chili pakora. Whole cayenne chilies dipped in batter and deep fried.

All,

Just for the record I'm nearly positive chocolate was invented in Belgium by Godiva.
