Fished the Farndon stretch Sunday. Had one bream. Was very hard to fish due to the flow of the river. Struggled to hold the bottom with 5oz lead.

Hi Gazza - these could be some use.

Sorry mate won't paste - must be protected??

Hi Gazza, welcome to AN.

Through an enforced lay off, I haven't fished the Trent for a number of years, just as the 'barbel boom' started to take off. Those I have spoken to say at times it's like a circus, with bivvies almost as far as the eye can see, but they only fish the popular day ticket stretches. If I were looking to start fishing down there again, I would join one of the many clubs. I like the look of Nottingham Anglers Association, they have several stretches of the river to suit whatever you fancy, as well as other waters, and many are members only.

Good Luck

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
