My phone is the dumbest, toughest, cheapest phone that I could find and I have no issues with sound quality.
It will almost certainly still work if I fall in the river and at a push, I can put it in a sock and hit people with it - and it will still work.

I have a small tablet for the clever stuff.

Your opinion, other's milage may vary. I like having a camera and a computer in my pocket.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Unfortunately the addage of putting all your eggs in one basket is still ignored my sister lives on her phone and she works from it !only waiting for the tears when it breaks or gets lost!

My best phone is just a phone ,not even wireless on it it cannot confuse my metal detector its for me to use not others to contact me ,my other phone has a bigger screen so i can see texts but its rarely used a fiver at most in a year (if i forget to make a call every month) ,it has all the bells and whistles but i wouldnt use eithers cameras except in an emergency its a phone not a camera!

My tablet has both a sim holder and a camera but i dont use either its a tablet not a phone and not a camera.

This convergance is not possible the screen is either to small (although phones are growing bigger thus losing the convenience of a phone or you have an arse 5ft wide to slip it in the back pocket) or you cannotbung a bigger lens on it.

A phone is a phone

A camera is a camera

Combined they are less of both

My little camera even has gps and would if there were any highlight all the things people may want to take pictures of , (probably handy in london) thats turned off its just a camera!

A modern camera is like a series 3 landrover it does two things in theory but its terrible to drive on a motorway and its crap off roading in it but its ok in an emergency

My camera does not stop me using my phone as a phone. You are a fool.

I keep the camera/computer in my bag.

There's not much point in integrating them into my phone when I can't see well enough to read it - and the tablet has a SIM and will work as a very large phone if I need to use it in an emergency.

I have one of these. Is awesome. Makes hands free a dodle, perch on shoulder old school style.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00865QRGW/ref=twister_B008GVC67K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Makes both ends hear conversation perfectly. Best £ 20.-- ever spent ?

(Is funny the looks you get when walking into a pub using it ? )

Love it!

I just have one of these.

I top up the charge on the battery every couple of weeks, whether it needs it or not.

Had another cheapie before this one. It was tough and had a good battery life but rather annoyingly, it beeped loudly whenever a key was pressed - even in standby mode.

It was not impossible to live with because my phone usually stays in my bag, rather than a pocket, but eventually , the charge control chip died and I replaced it with the one in the link.

I'm actually thinking of getting one for my dad and just leaving it in his car. He's a swine for turning his phone off and it'll about the only way that anyone will be able to contact him in an emergency.
