I don't think Newt is English. Great guy, though, and he has been a big part of this forum for many years. It was great to meet him when he visited and fished Wingham :)

I said in another  thread that I thought I'd lost some posts in the change over. The other week I noticed that I only needed 40 odd posts to reach the milestone of 10,000 posts. I see that I now need another 95, bugger!  I'll have to start posting more drivel to try and catch up, it works for some others on here.😉

I think Newt might be no longer with us. He is still in my FB friends list but he has not posted or replied to messages for since the last Presidential election. If I hear from him I will post an update.

I certainly hope that isn't the case Cory. :( Please do post if you hear from him.

Newt is certainly still in the land of the living, but apparently he's decided to off on his own for a while.

It is good to hear that John. I've not heard from him since his birthday in January 2017.

Another member (I'll not say who, if he wants his name known I'll let him post ;) ) was worried about Newt too and asked me in PM if I'd heard anything. After some considerable detective work he tracked down one of Newts' sons who told him what was happening. Seems like it's something Newt does on occasions.

That's good to hear John, thanks.

As I'm getting older I've thought about some of the regular members from when I joined nearly 14 yrs ago, and how they are now. Names like Poldark, Ferret, DavyR, Budgie, Snatcher, Nurse Judy, Worms, Kleinboet, Chris Goddard etc. There are too many to mention, but it would be nice to hear how they are if anyone is still in touch with them. It's sad that so many have left the forum, it used to be such a lively place, if a bit argumentative, at times.

John.
