Tests are only of value if they tell you something useful.

PCR tests will tell you whether you have virus in your system.

Antibody tests will tell you whether you have or have had the virus and generated an immune response.

A PCR test would honestly tell me nothing useful at this stage other than that I should take a week off work if it's positive.

Conversely, a positive antibody test would tell me that after waiting a week to be sure I'm safe, I can go and safely socialise with family - so despite the risk from handing over my genetic information, I would probably agree to an antibody test.

Test tests that the press are talking about are mostly PCR tests, which is why I don't really care about them

Are we following scientific guidelines  it appears not .

We have a lot of scientists 'advising' if only they made their minds up would help!

My advice is infallible ,people carry diseases keep away from them ,foreigners make diseases ban them visiting  ,those visiting foreigners should be banned from coming back !simple!

We should have learnt from the black death ,foreigners should have learnt we spread disease aswell, humans rarely learn so it goes round and round for eternity and it WILL exterminate the human race ,if travel was banned in 1918 only americans would have died from spanish flu (probably) and we would be speaking german but alive (probably)

Ban aeroplanes ,block the channel tunnel and put out only turnstiles on the border ,,you leave you stay left! OH and get a border! Goods in and out humans bar the drivers stay their side of the border !

Disease probably cannot swim 22 miles ,sneezes will never be propelled 22 miles that only leaves animals and humans ,humans are easy to spot so stop them bringing it 22 miles and if they try they should be repelled with utmost force

Bye the bye what does an ex tennis player know about diseases ? Why are people treating 'celebrities' like experts? Even the experts are sitting in their bedrooms basing their spiel on other ones sitting in theirs the amount of hearsay taken as experience is shocking but the media and their gullible watchers hang on every word!

Economists and psychologists are also "scientists".

The job of government is to balance infection control, NHS resources, the need to maintain a functioning economy and the mental health of the nation.

Following the science does not mean blindly adhering to the advice of an expert group that are only considering one of those competing demands.

Second highest death rate in the world when our PM said in his own words we are  fully prepared and ready , it must have been the people’s  fault and no fault of the government.

UK: 575 deaths per million of population.

Spain: 580 deaths per million of population.

Andorra: 660 deaths per million of population.

Belgium: 820 deaths per million of population.

San Marino: 1238 deaths per million of population.

I make that 5th highest.

Absolutely it was the people's fault. They knew the guidelines and chose to ignore them. Some groups of people were more prone to ignoring them than others, which is why we see so much bleating about some groups being disproportionately affected.

So will it be the people’s fault we had no testing , lack of PPE a public inquiry will take place, but guess what the Chief  Coroner has instructed to Coroners that a lack of PPE is now irrelevant in any inquiry ?into anybody’s passing ,now would you believe that what a coincidence Who would have thought that .

But no it’s not quite that simple as government are about to find out .

I ordered my own masks and gloves in January.

When did you order yours?

My safety is my responsibility and nobody elses.

I also stocked up on toilet paper, rice, pasta and tinned foods in January.

The NHS didn't run out of PPE but, like the rest of the world's healthcare providers, they were caught with their pants down due to an over-reliance on cheap Chinese manufacturing and "just in time" delivery strategies. Those lessons have now been learned but lets not forget that one man was screaming to the world about the risks of exporting manufacturing to China and making every effort to pull those jobs back - President Donald J Trump.

What about England ken the worst in the world shocking isn’t it .

Burn-Murdoch told Sky viewers: “It really depends on where we draw the borders. If we’re looking at the UK as a whole, the UK is now very slightly behind Spain for the worst mortality rate of all countries that we have this data for. If we were to change that and look at England alone, England is now actually the highest in the world what a record to hold as government and they have the nerve to  spout we are doing a great job ,the record speaks for itself .

Ken,

Your credit to TRUMP is misplaced on "just in time" which was the replacement for "just in case". I don't fault you for giving credit.Just this week he passed 30,000 factual lies.

On the topic of passing TRUMP moved to become the leader of the pack. Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (31 August 12 – 24 January 41), often called Caligula (/kəˈlɪɡjʊlə/), was the third Roman emperor, ruling from 37 to 41.
... was the contentious leaders.

Presumably this was the source of your "Second highest death rate" claim, which was demonstrably Bull Sh1t.

It provides no numbers to support the "worst in the world" claim and yet you expect people to take it seriously?

What are you smoking dude?

The population of England is 55.98 million. 55.98 x 1238 = 69303.24, so for England to have a higher death rate than San Marino, there would have to be 70,000 Covid-19 related deaths in England. Where is the evidence to support this claim?

You might quibble about whether San Marino is a proper country but Belgium is and to have a higher death rate than Belgium, there would have to be 47,000 Covid-19 related deaths in England and there ain't no evidence for that either.

Will you just stop just pulling articles that you think support your position out your ass without thinking about what they are saying?
