That story is as usual not true. Some civil servants wanted to retain access but the government said "No".

This country won’t stand brexit this year as well as this pandemic to business it will set this country back years and years and years .But don’t worry we will all be paying for it in the end well not all just the working classes as usual .

It's a very well established principle of British public life that an outgoing government can't bind the government that replaces it - so why on Earth would you try to present the change in policy direction as backtracking or a lie?

Another blow from Covid 19.  Diminished air travel has caused the loss of 8000 high end jobs at RR.. I will admit BREXIT was and now has to be doable. There is not one earthly soul who could predict the timing of the pandemic.

The current situation with the pandemic and souring relations with China is entirely consistent with the move away from globalism and towards national self determination and self sufficiency that drove both Brexit and the election of President Donald Trump.

Over-reliance of competitor nations to provide basic physical needs and core infrastructure is a bad idea.

The British knew this for years and subsidised the sugar beet industry so we couldn't be held to ransom by the global supply chain but those vital post war lessons were forgotten in the late 80's and early 90s.

Well ken this economy we have now was built on labour from Europe and the government know it .The  economic situation we now find ourselves in unprecedented we need labour from abroad to work in leisure, healthy, and hospitality businesses the government know it that is exact reason the big donor to the Tory party is shouting his mouth off because most of know our recovery if it is bounce back quickly will need the labour we are about to turn away to kickstart the economy .

But it’s all about the blame game now we ain’t leaving fully this year it’s how the government sell it to the public to save face .

Express and telegraph all over social media shouting about Dutch boats plundering our waters in our lockdown .What they forgot to mention in the same article was our scallop boats fishing off France as we speak , we have one scallop boat  here in Whitby and it  is fishing off France with the rest  of U.K. scallop fleet no mention of that in the express or telegraph but that’s brexit all over fill the public  with bucket loads of crap and they just keep swallowing it .

I very often feel the same anth when the mail or the express say anything especially the mail keeps winning the biggest liar of the year award  with disinformation,  but they all fabricate stories to suit there cause but it’s what you want to hear  that’s the trick tell the readers exactly what they want to hear even  if it’s a pack of lies .

The article in the telegraph and express on social media  EU super trawlers plundering our waters. again  they forget to mention our super trawlers fleet based in Peterhead 500 ton of herring or  mackerel in on haul for a coupe of hours fishing and the papers make out it’s only the rest of EU fishing fleet they plunder U.K. fishing grounds it’s absolute rubbish but sounds good when told to the public , but not only that the EU boats  are very likely using quota brutish fishermen sold to them  in the first place for hard cash .
