Were pensioners warned of this in 2016 off course they weren’t the Brexiteers have had there pants down what a way to mug a pensioner .

The House of Lords EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee has published its report on the potential impacts of Brexit on the price and availability of food for UK consumers.

The Committee highlighted the fact that with at least 30% of the food eaten in the UK currently coming from the EU, there is a risk that food imported into the country could be hit with tariffs and custom barriers. This could potentially lead to significant price rises for consumers.

The Committee also found that EU food imports could not easily be replaced by either producing more in the UK or importing more from non-EU countries. UK self-sufficiency has been declining for the past 30 years and could not quickly be reversed

Were pensioners warned of a possible massive hike in food price  with brexit in 2016. Of course they weren’t they were  lied to day after day leading upto the  referendum

You can lie to the people some of the time but  not all of the time .

The brexit lie game is coming to an abrupt end  very soon it’s Brexshit reality time .

Possible ,opinion not fact ! I am a pensioner i realised my options and most food from the EU is imported as its easier not because its cheaper ! If we import 30% then its obvious we import far more from outside the EU so the EU is not essential

I say once again name one food we import from the EU we cannot do without!

The house of lords are not experts there are no qualifications needed to become a lord

Brexit will be used as an EXCUSE to raise prices whether it has an impact or not ,if you dont buy it at inflated prices the price will fall ,eat chilean grapes not spanish ones !simple

How do know brexit will used as an exuce to raise food  prices that’s just your opinion  there is no proof of that .Now  if wagons full of food are jammed on a motorway wagons  stood still  cost money ,with  food it’s inevitable prices will increase dramatically with brexit .And public anger will very soon take over and then the fingers will start to point .I suppose Farage could always  **** off to Germany he doesn’t have any scruples doesn’t he have 2 passports ?
