Am I so far behind the times I didn't even know we had a bank lure fishing team England. I just read the Angling trust news.

Should I be embarrassed I know nothing of what's going on in our sport or do others feel out of it.?

I seem to remember the South African team cleaning up a few years back by using micro-lures that were basically flies/nymphs/bloodworm.

A bit if an irrelevance really.

Meanwhile, in the salty stuff, a lure angler has just broken the UK shore bass record with a fish of 22lb.

Don't feel embarrassed mate, you're not the only one, I didn't know either. Not that it would have been of much interest to me had I known. I recently found out that there are World Feeder fishing championships, as well as the old float version. There are also world carp fishing championships, although I'm not too sure whether it is won by those who catch the biggest, or by those who manage to avoid catching any at all. I know which I'd prefer.

EDIT, Just noticed that this as my 10,000th post. There were times that I doubted that the forum would last long enough for me to reach this milestone, but it's still running, only just, but still here non the less.:thumbs:

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
