Tough as it is 31,855 UK deaths through Covid-19 to date. I'ts still only around half of a top flight Premier League ground capacity.

Significant & very sad - but not as bad as it could be??

Flu, in its various forms, killed millions worldwide over the years.

I don't know anyone who has died of the 'flu. I know of two people who have died of COVID-19, one was in his twenties.

Cory,

You're hangin' with the wrong crowd.

cut and paste CDC

According to new estimates published today, between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide die from seasonal influenza-related respiratory illnesses each year, higher than a previous estimate of 250,000 to 500,000 and based on a robust, multinational survey.

All,

For me, the loss of life is paramount. Unlike our president, segments of the population are not justified as sacrificial.

However, from a practical point of view this is quite distasteful numbers. c&p

"As of May 1, 2020 federal debt held by the public was $19.05 trillion and intragovernmental holdings were $5.9 trillion, for a total national debt of $24.95 trillion. At the end of 2019, debt held by the public was approximately 79.2% of GDP, and approximately 37% of the debt held by the public was owned by foreigners." (I believe the foreign holdings represent Chesters1 dabbling in the stock market)

It is not without merit to consider in the last three quarters of 2020 debt could surpass GDP. All the while we continue to gobble up a massive percent of available natural resources.

CORY,

I guess deaths illness' and hospitalization are a product of confusing data in both Covid - 19 and the flu. I SIMPLY cut and pasted from "one" of the multitude of CDC sites out there.  WHY don't you go with WHO, I'll stick with CDC and we'll play lairs poker?

One thing we can agree on is the disaster created by MEGA
