So can we fish or not?

Passed a chap fishing the canal on my way to work on Thursday.

Somehow I doubt that he had a licence and suspect hat anything he caught went in the pot.

Makes you wonder why any of us bother following rules.

I understand your feelings Ken, when I see people having large parties in their gardens I think the same, 'why bother?'. When I see groups of cyclists riding a couple of feet apart, or friends meeting up for a kick about, or sunbathe in the park, I think the same. I then think, I'm glad we are all not dickheads like them. They will be the first to moan if the 'lockdown' lasts longer, or if more draconian measures are applied.

Mind you, they can always put the blame on the Government.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

As with anything else, it's pointless having rules if they are not enforced and enforced evenly.

The chances of anyone dealing with the chap fishing illegally are next to nil.

The bums and junkies outnumbering legitimate travellers on my train to work do so with impunity.

And the followers of the religion of peace who are completely ignoring every rule ever written will tell us that the virus is racist, even as they are taking a place on a respirator from some poor sod who caught the virus through no fault of their own.

had a walk along the fazeley canal near where i live last week. walked about 2 miles along the tow path and counted 15 anglers on the bank . most of em blokes id say were in there 60's. had a word with one of em and asked if he knew he shouldnt be fishing. was given a right mouthful and told in no uncertain terms to mind my own business!

thank you sir ,was you on the cut last week ? lol

I actually don't think there is any significant risk with pleasure fishing canals or rivers.

Social distancing is pretty well automatic re the above.

It's the Car Park,Commercial Match gatherings & weighing in that are the big problem, so it's just easier to apply a Blanket Ban!!
