Here's another friend, sadly gone. I hope Newt doesn't mind me posting this picture of Jan Vail with a young Vagabond.

I hope the latter is doing ok ,cannot get a message to him and for the life of me cannot find his phone number !

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Vagabond (Dave) and Norma his wife were like explorers, they often went to foreign climbs catching everything from sharks to piranhas!

I remember on one trip out to south america they were out in the middle of the jungle in unknown territory and one of their canoes capsized!.....luckily they were ok :).

Propper characters who I for one very much miss on here :(.

Dave Park's book Angling Vagabond is an excellent read and well worth tracking down - pity there was never a follow up!

Well,  I'm glad nobody has written my obituary!    Thanks for all the kind remarks -  especially about the book.  I reconnected yesterday - see Tiggers thread  're a few hours out.  Still fishing in my 87th year,  albeit just small still waters due to ever increasing angina problems.
