Fishing camera

My Fuji packed up and I needed a new camera for my fishing bag.

£9.99 and £3.49 postage got me a 10.2 megapixel Sony DSC-W170 on e-bay.

It's used but in immaculate condition and arrived with the original box, charger, cables and even a 4gb memory card.

I know most people will just use their phones but I prefer a real camera and as a bonus, this model doesn't have a touch screen.

The updated version of his camera is still available with a 20 megapixel CCD and an £80 price tag, so I reckon I did good.

I'm no David Bailey by any stretch Ken, but I also use a camera for fishing - just a Nikon coolpix  8 Megapixels & takes video as well - didn't pay much on fleabay, maybe £18 or so??

Spec' says 8.0 Megapixels, VR & ISO 2000, 2.5 inch LCD (what ever all that means)

Takes a decent picture which is all one wants!!

ISO 2000

ISO 200 methinks. ISO 2000 is a standard for IT Service Management.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Well it clearly states ISO 2000 on the Camera Logo!! I have the Camera in front of me. Maybe IT Service Management means I can do what I like with the Images??

(Which I can - & Do!!)

Then it is a mis-print. ISO 200 is the equivalent film speed.

It's been a few years now since the "Japs" got it wrong!!

My fishing cameras normally live in a Systema type plastic box wrapped in a piece of roller towel.

Keeps them dry and protects them from knocks.

Back in the days....

I used ISO 3200 and 6400 film mainly black & white so I could process myself. It is entirely conceivable that the camera is correctly labelled particularly if it has a ‘night’ or ‘sports’ setting.
