A new "toy" for Chesters?

Hi Ant, I watch all the AAR stuff even though I'm perfectly happy with just my 40 odd year old .22 Webley Vulcan air rifle. It still packs a hefty punch.

Yeah they are good aren't they Martin. I have a Remington Express springer, well it's technically my sons but it lives with me.

I had a bsa scorpion in about 1973? ,nice thing very accurate for its time ,i would prefer a 50 cal air rifle but the nanny state forbids them be brilliant removing cormerants and mink

Saying that though i did have a 38 calibre air rifle ,i think it was a prototype it was a webley with a crows foot ,it was sleeved to take .22 and boy it flung them !

As with everything at that time it was flogged when money got short ?

A shotgun that fires a single ball ? i would fill it with plastic bb type ammo .I have fired a 10 bore with a slug its very devastating to food!

The guy sounds like technomoan lol

I think I'd rather have the Umarex HDR 50 Revolver - but only if it was the 12 joule version, which is unfortunately illegal in the UK.

Failing that, if things got bad, maybe the Cobra System R-Series “Adder” Tactical Repeating Crossbow.

If it ever gets manufactured, a compound bow firing 12mm steel balls from a 20 round magazine would definitely be on my shopping list for home defence.

Apparently, the Home Defence title of these Guns has no reference as to the Legality of using them for said purpose!! It's up to the Laws of the country.

In the UK, it's illegal to use these weapons for home defence (But it maybe OK to hit an intruder with say a Cricket or Baseball Bat??)

Personally, at near on 65, I'd take a chance with the Jury as these Guns are after all NON LETHAL, And an Intruder gets all he deserves!!

The same guy reviewed that a couple of weeks ago Ken.

Yes, I've seen a few of his reviews but to be honest, I wouldn't hunt rabbits with a UK legal air rile. Far better to obtain a FAC and import a gun with enough energy to do the job properly.

As for home defence, it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6, but if it were going to get serious, I'd much rather have a pointy stick than one of these toys that will be stopped by a winter coat.
