The Mrs had a funny turn and was admitted as an emergency to Frimley Park with a BP of 256 over 112 (beat her old record of 233 over 110) couldnt fault the nurses .The doctors obviously fleeting between patients.

First she was in A&E  then swiftly moved to a side passage (oer mrs) on a trolley .About 10.30 pm ashe was put on a bed and was waiting for somewhere to put it in a ward. I left i was knackered having sat on the hardest of seats since 2 pm .

She sms me later saying she was in a ward and next morning i went back ,i watched with horror how frail my mrs of 50 years was shes not old but obviously the high BP was wearing her down .During the hours of sitting on a different but even more badly designed chair the nurses flitted here and there taking BP and bloods .The mrs said she got about an hours sleep as a woman in the opposite bed kept jolting awake screaming and asking where she was .unfortunately dementia is a cruel thing for everyone .Her son sat holding her hand but occasionally she woke enough to open her eyes but she only knew him when he spoke .Cruel thing to say but perhaps a method of inducing a coma to make her sleep until her arm was fixed (there was a large bandage on it and a drain so i guess she had hurt herself badly) not just for a quiet life for those around but to stop upsetting the patient herself with the constant strange people taking blood and changing fluid bags etc.

As usual nothing in the NHS talks to each other and a doctor used her phone(the mrs phone) to see what meds she was on (please fill in the'emergency ' bit on your phone .Its seen when your phone locks itself theres an emergency bit people can press and see the owners details ,next of kin ,what meds they are on etc.. That gave the doctor an idea of what she was already taking and showed she has Epilepsy and High blood pressure . She also asked if we had any info on previous BP numbers .We use an Omron BP machine so we had LOTS of fiqures lol.

As i said the NHS refuses to talk to each other It has an NHS app Frimley Park doesnt use it it uses its own one ,our doctor uses a different app for the GP side and a further one for appointments .Its daft if we weren't tech savy we would have no chance of getting anything health wise .Anyway between the three we found not only her BP stuff we took but showed a ambulatory BP she had last august and all its figures showing she has high normal BP (forget what its called) occasionally usualy in the 150's is her "normal" .

I left to get home at 4 pm giving me time to get 3 buses back .Next morning (today) i had a blood test so didnt get to frimley until 12.30 .She had moved again Opposite was an old lady ,text book granny .She was asleep but woke and asked where she was i said the doctor would be coming and have some sleep while she could and she went to sleep .She woke later and tried to get out of bed to go to the loo but it was obvious she had a catheter in so we said she wasnt allowed and i went to find a nurse to explain what one was .Trouble is caused by nurses NOT taking time to explain to patients what going on .Yes some forget so you repeat yourself but not all old people have dementia some just get confused because things are not explained to them.Little old lady took it in and dozed off again its surprising how loud frail old ladies snore ,even more how far up an old ladies nose you can see.

Mrs had a CT scan of her brain ,nothing found (snigger) BP still 211 over 90 so coming down .Her food hadnt improved how they cook every bit of taste out i dont know my mrs ate half!

Nothing has changed since i spent a week in there ,if your asleep you dont get a cup of tea ,if your asleep meal time and asleep when they collect the dishes you dont eat and the staff dont tell the nurses you havnt just like when i was in!

Anyway the doctors could not find any cause of this high BP so gave up trying by the look of it and at 6.30 they let her go BUT the doctors completely buggered up her prescription they told us they had increased her meds for high BP but on getting home found they had actually reduced it thinking she was on 2Mg pills when she is on 4Mg (clearly shown on the 'emergency' list i had put on the mrs phone for just such an occasion ) i will have to fill in a stupid trick question form to find out what dose she should be on monday on the bloody appointment app from the doctors surgery ,never feel ill on a weekend your doctors surgery could be firmly shut for such things ,phoning 111 is pointless!

They did find a reason on the exit paperwork its was probably "white coat syndrome" which is laughable shes not phased by hospitals in the slightest and how it was 228 before she even got there more of a clue ,shes probably been longer in hospital than the bloody doctors who saw to her .

But shes home BP back to 165 which for her is pretty normal andd chatting on messenger to the kids . My arse wont recover!

As i said i cant fault the staff the system sucks it needs tearing down, chuck out the thousands of pointless positions and start again

Thinking about not one person wore a white coat so i guess the doctors insisted their patients enjoyed street dust ,spare dinner from the meals they ate and the germs from every patient they visted before for who knows how long ,at least white coats can be steam cleaned grubby jumpers probably not !

Blimey i am tired still ,she came home yesterday night i spent this morning checking the new tap in the kitchen i installed and rebuilt the water filter i dismantled to renew its filters that had been sitting waiting since Tuesday.

PS the auto stop valve i fitted worked extremely well when a pipe i hadnt fully pushed in pushed out!

The NHS is just a big joke these days unfortunately. You certainly can't put your life in their hands, so to speak.

Anyway, hope Mrs Chesters is feeling much better.......and your arse is less sore. 😁

When we left the EU to take control of our borders, I thought there was an extra £350 million a week for the NHS?

In  2020 my dad went back to the GP's as he was asked to make a follow up on a recent blood test. He entered the Gp's room and sat down and said to the doctor you asked to see me?

Yes said the doctor and continued to point out to my dad about some infection or condition  in his blood (he did tell me but i forget)  and there is a chance that his leg may have to be amputated. My dad completely shocked said he had only had the blood test to check up on his cholesterol which was showing high and to have a check to see whether his prostate was OK.

The doctor paused and stared into my dads eyes with which my dad said was a expression of complete bewilderment and confusion. The doctor then looked down at his paperwork and on his laptop again  and said my dads name and checked with the paperwork again looking confused. You had the blood test done at the Queen Mary hospital 3 days ago he asked my dad?. No my dad replied atleast 9 or 10 days ago?

Still looking confused and after a pause he said is your blood type A+? .No said my dad it's O!

Are you sure said the Doctor?

100% positive my dad said.

The GP asked him to wait a while and  left the room with his paperwork.

After about 10 minutes (which is a long time thinking if your leg is going to be lobbed off) he returns and says.

There has obviously been a clinical error of which we will fix straight away but i am happy to say that your 'real' results are back and there is nothing to worry about , everything is good he said

So i am not having my leg lobbed off then he said , no, i am so sorry about that and we will find out how the error came about.

Six months later my dad was rushed to hospital with Covid, he spent 12 hours in A and E then rushed into IC where he died soon after....

To be honest i don't quite know what to make of it all and actually thought 'did he really have covid?. He must of had i thought but after the leg fiasco it still bouces around in my head 'Did he'????

I think a great number died of covid because it saved a great deal of paperwork and time to find the real cause .

I still find it appalling people can be injured and go to hospital with a pretty mild injury but die from 'complications ' you are probably safer on many occasions to be left alone and kept away from hospital .

I spent a great deal of time and money avoiding catching covid all through the pandemic yet caught it in hospital after suffering a nose bleed that wouldnt stop as i am on blood thinners because the waiting room was full of sick people . Victorians had hospitals that segregated 'broken ' people from sick people but we closed them ,go in with a broken leg come out with swamp fever !

Onr of my visits the doctor asked what i the apointment was about i said i dont know you made it! Now we predict the doctor will request BP reports and glucose reports so we do them email them in so he has to deal there and then ,its hard enough to get apointments as it is going home to do bp results THEN get another apointment to be prescibed some new pill is time consuming and expensive my mrs is on crutches and the bus stop a mile away so its £15 each way then a bus each way just to fobbed off.

On a completely different tangent but its about 'broken'  things ,my mrs had a small fit while opening the freezer ,she pulled out the drawer which fell on the floor (old ones didnt do that ,bloody progress!) anyway it broke a chunk out the handle and cracked the side so i looked for a new one £100 quid for a bit of ****ing plastic ! Thats a third of the freezers original cost ffs.

Had to bodge it so put a strip of 3mm aluminium at the back of the long handle and a bit of white plastic along the front to hide the cracks where it was glued back together .scratched my head how to make it nice not only for fingers pulling on the handle but to make it safe as a pop rivet would work but have a sharp bit in a hard to get to bit and nuts would stick out aswell .Chicago bolts ... Brilliant ,but of difficulty getting them in from behind but once in looked brilliant and neat.

Waiting for a stainless version coming from china but the cheap ones fine for the moment .the side was reinforced with a stainless 90 degree bracket with 5mm chicago bolts ,chesters aint going to waste money on something thats hidden 99% of its life!

The freezer some hotpoint bit of crap has neen repaired twice in its short life but its designer needs shooting ,the two top flats just rest in place so if your packing has something just pointing out a fractions theres a great chance as you close the door it fals down just as you push it closed and you crack the hinges ,done both so far ,more bodging ! Our 66 year old fridge has one crack on its freezer section door and that was there when we bought it ,****ing progress!
