PORN!!!!!

a co worker got it from using a torrent website on internet exporer

Just what I suspected. Chris even better than Firefox for surfing dodgy sites is Google Chrome in Incognito mode. I don't use it as my default browser but useful for porn and banking.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

If it was a due to porn I think I need to have a word with the other half. lol

It first started playing up when my little lad was on his favourite sites which are things like childrens sites and free arcade game sites???????

Yup. Them too. Set him up with his own logon and install Google chrome him. That should make him pretty immune from drive by attacks like that.

these are the worst of them all when its kids sites cause they know kids wil click yes to anything on screen.

my nephew was on a games website and one of the images on the website was a "windows error message click ok to continue" but remember its an image not an actual error message

"andrew should i click to close this" he said as he proceeded to press on the image's "Ok button" and before i could look to the computer it was already downloading adware

some advertisers are scum

Yeah the little fella is only 6, so when he sees a pop-up or something he just clicks on it thinking it's part of the game. :)
Set him up with his own non-admin account and install any other browser other than IE for him. That should make him a bit less vulnerable. If you have XP download Microsoft Defender. It is not to bad and it is free, at least for now.
