From all your advice, I reckon I'll give it a whirl. Unfortunately Mr. Onions and I don't do that much boat fishing. Hope to rectify that when we move in a couple of years' time, 'til then the Okuma sounds just the job.

Promise to keep it clean, Spasor. Looking forward to May very much.

Help me unhook these, please.

I've used four Okuma Magda levelwind 30d reels for the past five years trolling from downriggers and planer boards in Lake Michigan (US), and love them - no problems. The drag system is good, IMHO, and compares favorably with Daiwa reels priced twice as much.
