Odd One This ....

Recommended Posts

Had this for some time, and although I can work round it it's starting to bug me !!

1.jpg

Desktop Icons.

As you can see from the pic, some are brightly lit as normal, but some are "misted" as if a sheet of tissue paper has been laid over them. Same thing occurs within some, but not all folders.

Yet if I create a new folder on the desktop it, and the new contents, are bright.

2.jpg

This is my pictures folder, and all the thumbnails are "misted".

None of these are "hidden files".

All shortcuts on the desktop are displaying bright. It's just the folders, and contents, that are misted.

Any clues anyone ?

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Hi Chris ...

Not that I know of ....

"Show hidden files and folders" is selected in "Folder Options".

Do all of the folders that are 'weird' have photos in them Wiggles?

strange it looks like they do when you dont have full rights to them, weird.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Seen this before but can't remember the fix, found this which is something to do with it Ithink! Worth a try.........

Four things are required for transparent icon backgrounds:

1.Control Panel-System-Advanced-Performance Settings.

Check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" on the Visual

Effects tab.

2.Right-click on Desktop - "Arrange Icons by" and ensure Lock Web

items is cleared.

3.Transparency will not work if you have web content on your desktop,

Control Panel - Display Properties - Desktop tab - Customize Desktop -

Web tab. Clear all check boxes.

4. Ensure the Wallpaper is an image file not HTML.

But I thnk you are after the reverse of this.
