'05 mullet season

As a matter of interest, how have other mullet anglers got on during the summer? I've fished hard and often this year (Medway estuary), yet caught only eight fish (5 in June, 2 in July, 1 in August, 0 in Sept, and 0 thus far for October). Previous four years, for a similar amount of fishing, I've averaged about 20.

I've not yet quite thrown in the towel, but I'm getting close to doing so.

Me too Jim,

Had a grim season, yet to score at all. Still lets hope the season lasts in to November/ December.

Medway . .

Managed one in April ( Gillingham Pier ) and four further fish ( from Sun Pier and Civic Centre ) best being just under 5lbs. My lack of fish was down to lack of time, most if June being taken up by chasing other species, then August being away on holiday etc. September and October I had intended to get at least two tips in but family commitments prevented this.

On a couple of occasions I blanked but did see a lot of fish who were bait shy, have come up with an idea I'll be trying next summer.

Littlehampton . .

Just the one trip resulting in one Mullet, though have now discovered a new excellent low water swim which will see my return next summer.

Weymouth . .

The long weekend trip in July resulted in one Bass for me while angling companion's Sean and Dave both did well. Was the sorry witness to Sean losing a huge fish aproaching double figures.

If it was to easy . . . !

Tight lines.
