It is true what Tony said and according the report on the other deal the pirate mother ship was challenged, failed to stop and opened fire, the attack was stopped by sinking the mother boat. Teach them to mess with a war ship.

Yep, all very easy to tout the 'blow em out the water' approach but its difficult when hostages are involved too. I wonder if the cowboys here would still be so eager if it was their son or father tied up on a pirate ship?

 

On the whole though I think we need to get tough with these guys, paying them money so they can arm themselves better is certainly not the way in the long run. Maybe the SAS to intelligence gather then the odd targetted cruise missile strike on the pirates onland strongholds perhaps?
